Our Story

Aashaari is rooted in South Indian traditions, inspired by a time when a master carpenter — an aashaari — would craft furniture directly within the homes of the families they served. Long before designers, showrooms, and mass production, these artisans shaped each piece by hand, guided by experience, patience, and deep respect for their craft.

Working slowly and thoughtfully, they built furniture that reflected both function and artistry — weaving cane, carving wood, and refining every detail with care. This intimate, personal approach to making left behind more than furniture; it created lasting connections between maker, material, and home.

That spirit forms the foundation of Aashaari today. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and carefully handcrafted from solid teak wood by skilled artisans who honor time-honored techniques. Inspired by the elegance of British colonial-era furniture, our collections balance classic proportions with refined detail, offering designs that feel both sophisticated and enduring.

Aashaari exists to preserve these traditions while bringing them into modern living. Every piece is made to be lived with, cherished, and passed down — becoming part of the stories and spaces that matter most, for generations to enjoy. More than furniture, our work is a celebration of artistry, heritage, and lasting quality.
